Barn Conversion, Richhill
This was one of our most rewarding jobs to date. Creating a home for a young family in Ahorey out of an old, redundant stone barn used only for storage. We managed to create a bright spacious three bedroom home and the client moved in with well under £80,000 spent! Inverting the plan and keeping the bedrooms downstairs with a cosy ceiling height and putting the living accommodation upstairs allowed us to open these spaces up to the slope of the ceiling to increase the feeling of space and introduce additional daylight from rooflights in the rear slope. We lined, insulated (to a standard well beyond Building Regulations) and damproofed the inside of exterior walls and left some stone party walls inside exposed.
